About The Pixie Bennett Band

This dynamic band are creating waves in the SA music scene and were recognised as one of the top two newcomer bands in 2009 by the Sunday Tribune. Their live act will capture your attention with a magnetic leading lady backed by some of SA's hottest musicians!

The Pixie Bennett Band are a Durban based band, who have graced the local stages of Splashy Fenn and The White Mountain festival. Forming in 2008, the band have been building a name for themselves nationally and have acheived much success!

Pixie Bennett who fronts the project has performed in countries such as Spain (Ibiza), Turkey, Italy, Malawi and the UK, as a club dancer and singer. She entered into SA Idols, making it to the top 7 in 2009 , and is currently involved in a side club project with ' Queen of the clubs' DJ Lady Lea taking the bands music to all corners or the music scene.

After falling out of the Idols show the band have been in huge demand, playing with Top SA bands Prime Circle, Zebra and Giraffe, Aking, Flash Republic, Dirty Skirts at the Mr Price Pro Ballito 2009 and 2010, as well as showcasing their energetic act at the Durban Vodacom July 2009/2010, Opening for top SA R&B artist Loyiso at the Durban Botanical Gardens, and entertaining at many national corporate events.

Recently the band performed at Durban Day with Jesse Clegg, Gang of Instrumentals and Just Jinger to a large and receptive audience!

The Band have also shared the stage with International Rapper Busta Rhymes, local bands Wonderboom, City Bowl Mizers, Voodoo Child and DJ Ready D to name a few. During the World Cup they were booked to perform at the semi-finals match at Moses Mabida stadium together with the Beach Fan Fest where they gained further international fans.

The Pixie Bennett Band recorded their new EP album at Sesalos Studios, produced by John Ellis from Tree 63. Their Single "So Spun" experienced great success on the SA Charts and their second single "Edge of the line" is following closely behind. The Pixie Bennett Band are sponsored by MR PRICE who powered thier first nationwide South Africa tour which they completed in September 2009, together with their music video for "Edge of the Line".

The bands debut music video was launched recently on Mnet's All Access, and reached number 1 on the MK top 10 video charts staying on the charts for 11 weeks! Further channels to showcase the video include SABC2, SABC3 and Idols extra together with many radio stations websites and further online sites!
